Delhi to Pune Travel Guide

Delhi is a part of the National Capital Region besides Gurgaon and Haryana and is best known as the capital city of India. Its geographical features include the fact that it’s located near River Yamuna and it has the Aravali Ranges towards its south. 

The climate is generally extreme with summers being relatively hot and winters being relatively cold. Another attractive aspect of the city is its fast food joints and pubs dotting the entire region. Even parts of Pune are well connected by buses. 

This city is a part of Maharashtra and is situated near the Western Ghats and has retreat destinations ranging from beaches to hills around the city. Some popular tourist destinations include Mulshi, Lonavala and Khandala, Murud Janjira, Alibaug, Mahabaleshwar, Ajanta and Ellora Caves near Aurangabad. AC, Volvo and Deluxe buses are run by the government and private bus operators from Pune to all these destinations and back. You can also book train tickets in case you’re more comfortable with travelling by train.

Goa Express, Pune Duronto Express and Jhelum Express are some of the many fast-running express trains you can avail of from Delhi to Pune. The journey takes approximate 28 hours and the cost of tickets is very affordable at just Rs.450. Indigo and some airline offer their flight services from Delhi to Pune. Since the capital city is located in the northern part of India and Pune lies in the western part of the country, the distance between the two cities, which is almost 1466 kilometres, is too much to cover by bus.
